AUTOBIOGRAPHY
I am a
retired elementary Wisconsin History teacher who has been
interested in genealogy most of my life. I was always the
grandkid who listened to Grandma and Grandpas stories
when my cousins were off doing other things! My mother had
in her Bible two sheets of paper that contained some information
on her paternal ancestors. In analyzing the information, I
discovered several errors and an impossibility, my great grandfather
had to be more than 12 years old when he married! I set out
to find the correct information and became hooked on genealogy!
During
my summer vacations from school, I put many miles on my car
traveling around Wisconsin visiting libraries, cemeteries,
churches, and county courthouses to research and document
my ancestors. As I learned more, I traveled to Ohio, Indiana,
and Illinois to extend my pedigree. In this process, I have
become a very proficient and knowledgeable researcher. My
husband, Stan, and I have been on several research trips together
tracing his colonial ancestors in Massachusetts, Maryland,
and New York. We have three grown children who are always
excited to hear about our latest genealogical finds!
